Casual Retail Sales Assistant

Location: SB Libris: 81 - 83 View St, Bendigo
Employment Type: Long term casual, commencing February 2026
Hours:
1 -2 days per week
Every second Saturday
Additional availability during school holidays and busy periods (2–3 days per week & alternate Saturdays)

The Role

As a Retail Assistant at SB Libris, you are an important part of the customer experience. This role suits someone who enjoys working with beautiful objects, values quality over speed, and takes pride in doing things properly.
You will support both in-store customers and the day-to-day operations of the retail business, helping ensure everything runs smoothly and looks beautiful.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing warm, attentive, and knowledgeable customer service
• Operation of Shopify POS, Eftpos, administration tasks, open and close procedures
• Gift wrapping and packaging to SB Libris standards
• Receiving, unpacking, and restocking stockMaintaining high standards of store presentation and merchandising
• Picking and packing online orders
• Supporting workshops, events, and busy trading periods

• Is comfortable working independently once trained
• Enjoys following systems and maintaining high standards

Desirable but not essential:

• Previous retail or customer service experience
• Interest in books, stationery, craft, or analogue tools
